: The practice of oral hygiene needs to be strengthened during adolescence, a time when there is significant change in habits, leading an increase the prevalence tooth decay associated with less frequent brushing. propose study determine status 5-15-year-old children, lack previous data this field one reasons for conducting research so that we can provide accurate statistics Afghanistan. A descriptive cross-sectional was carried out between 431 children stomatology national hospital Kabul city. Sample size selected randomly from both gender group which were 161 males and 270 females. Oral assessed by using simplified-oral index. Gingival index (loe silness, 1963) used assessing gingival status. dmf DMF decayed, missed filled teeth primary permanent dentition assess dental caries. Statistical analysis done SPSS .20. 21.2% had good status, 65.2% fair 13.6% poor hygiene. mean OHI-S 2.4±1.19. There no difference (p<0.05). caries 80.9%. Boys 4.15±3.03 it girls 3.05±2.67, shows higher boys than girls. Overall scores 3.48±2.86. 173 (40.9%) normal gums. 31.6% not brush their teeth, 37.4% once day. more half sample size. High seen males. Dental major public health problem active effective care prevention program needed.
